Bring On the Snow Musical

Students have been asking for the lyrics for our musical, Bring On the Snow, that we will be presenting at the Winter Concert.  The classes involved in this musical are:
Rooms 13,14,15, 16, 18, and 19.

I do not have links for each song but I did find a Youtube link of another school performing this musical.  The students can sing along. Hope this helps.
Please click HERE.

Here are the lyrics to our songs:

Bring on the Snow!

I looked out the window and what did I see?
Dark, grey clouds in the sky.
The temp’rature’s falling; it’s cold outside.
We’re a long, long way from July.

It’s easy to see there’s a change in the air.
The wind is starting to blow.
And the chance of a storm is one hundred percent.
So, come on, bring on the snow.

I hope there’s a blizzard, and we get a lot.
That’s what I’m wishing for.
I’m anticipating, I’m not exaggerating;
A foot, maybe two or more.

The weather report said it’s coming our way.
There’s one thing that I know;
We’ll have no school tomorrow or maybe for a week.
First ending:
So, come on, bring on the snow.
Second Ending:
So, come on, bring on,   -----
Please, please bring on, ---
Come on_____ and bring on   ---  the snow

 Ready, Set, Snow

Ready, set, snow, here we go.
And let the blizzard begin.
We’ve been waiting all week for the weather report
And now it’s coming in.
Ready, set, snow, here we go.
Snow is on the way,
And we’re hoping that tomorrow when we wake up
There’ll be “no school today!”

One foot, two feet, three or more,
Let it snow all week long.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, too,
We hope the forecast isn’t wrong!
Ready, set snow, here we go.
Snow is on the way,
And we’re hoping that tomorrow when we wake up
There’ll be “no school today!”

One foot, two feet, three or more,
Let it snow all week long.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, too,
We hope the forecast isn’t wrong!
Ready, set snow, here we go.
Snow is on the way,
And we’re hoping that tomorrow when we wake up,
Hoping that tomorrow when we wake up,
Hoping that tomorrow when we wake up
There will be no school, “no school today!”
Ready, set snow!
“No school today!”

Over the River

1.Over the river and through the wood,
To Grandmother’s house we go.
The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh
Through white and drifted snow.
Over the river and through the wood,
Oh, how the wind does blow!
It stings the toes and bites the nose,
As over the ground we go.

We’re on a sleigh ride.
                              (We’re on a sleigh ride.)   3X
Over the ice.
We’re on a sleigh ride.
                              (We’re on a sleigh ride.)   3X
Isn’t it nice.

2.See how the horses gallop through the winter snow.
Whinny and neighing, I think they’re saying,
“We’ve not very far to go.”
And when we get there we’ll have lots of fun we know!
Grandmother chose her warm winter clothes
For playing out in the snow.

We’re on a sleigh  ride……   3X

PART 1 & 2

To Grandmother’s house
(we go)
Over the river and through the wood.
(we go)
Over the river and through the wood
We go.

Hot Chocolate!

Sssss              Hot!
Hot, hot, hot, hot choc’late, I can’t get enough.
Hot, hot, hot, hot choc’late, It’s my fav’rite stuff!
When the weather is freezing and you think you’ll turn to ice,
There is nothing more pleasing than a mug of paradise.
Turn up the heat, make it steamy and sweet,
With marshmallows on the top.
Come fill me up to the top of my cup,
I’m gonna drink ev’ry drop!
Hot, hot, hot, hot choc’late, I can’t get enough.
Hot, hot, hot, hot choc’late, It’s my fav’rite stuff!

1. Hot,   hot choc’late.    Hot,   hot choc’late.
2. Ssss      Make it steamy.    Ssss    Rich and creamy.
3. Marshmallows are floating on the top.
Whipped cream, I’m never gonna stop

Turn up the heat, make it steamy and sweet,
With marshmallows on the top.
Come fill me up to the top of my cup,
I’m gonna drink ev’ry drop!
Hot, hot, hot, hot choc’late, I can’t get enough.
Hot, hot, hot, hot choc’late, It’s my fav’rite stuff!
I can’t get enough!
I need a fix made from scratch or a mix.
Hot chocolate.

 Angels in the Snow

I’ve waited so long for a snowfall. (Snowfall)
Each morning there’s a frosty sheen. (Frosty sheen)
But as each day goes by, there’s nothing but blue sky,
And still no snow to be seen.
Oh yes,, it’s a little bit chilly. (Chilly)
The wind really know how to blow. (Wind will blow)
But the one thing I’ve waited all season to do
Requires at least a bit of snow.

I dream of making angels in the snow (angels in the snow,)
Angels in the snow (angels in the snow.)
First I’ll lie down on the frozen ground
and feel the snow below. (feel the snow below)
I dream of making angels (angels) in the snow.

Yes, I know that ev’ry single snowflake (snowflake)
Is perfect and white, and rare (white and rare,
With its very own design, so delicate and fine.
There’s nothing on earth that can compare.

I dream of making angels in the snow (angels in the snow,)
Angels in the snow (angels in the snow.)
First I’ll lie down on the frozen ground
and feel the snow below. (and feel the snow below)
I dream of making angels (angels) in the snow.(angels in the snow)
In the snow (angels in the snow)
Angels in the snow.

 Blizzard On The Way!

The weather report             is so surprising.
The weather report             is winterizing.
The weather report             says it’s gonna snow (it’s gonna snow)
One hundred percent       precipitation.
One hundred percent       anticipation.
One hundred percent       that school will close, (school will close)

And there’s a blizzard on the way: it’s gonna be snowing.
Blizzard on the way: it’s gonna be blowing.
Blizzard on the way, and it’s coming to -   day._____
Yes there’s a blizzard on the way: the lake is frozen.
Blizzard on the way, and school is closin’
Blizzard on the way, and it’s coming today.

There’s gonna be      accumulation.
There’s gonna be      a snow vacation.
There’s gonna be      lots of
 fun tonight.
It won’t be long         ,        but we are waiting.
It won’t be long,        anticipating.
It won’t be long:        ev’rything will be white (snow white)

Yes there’s a blizzard on the way: it’s gonna be snowing.
Blizzard on the way.           Blizzard on the way.
There’s a blizzard, and it’s on the way, today, today.

Blizzard on the way!

Notes on the Music Staff

In Music, Rooms 13, 14, 15, and 16 have been studying the notes on the staff. The students have been learning to name the lines and spaces.  They use either their "hand staff" or the following song to help remember the note names:

The Staff Has Five

The staff has five, it has five lines:
E G B D F,  E G B D F.
In between each line
there lies a space:
F A C E,

They spell the word “FACE!”

When the students are proficient at being able to identify the note names on the staff, it will make playing recorder pieces much easier.

This is the bulletin board outside of the Music Room.  Each note or symbol has the name of a student that attends
Crestview School.
